Kokuho

In Nagasaki, 1964, a 15-year-old named Kikuo faces the loss of his yakuza father. Subsequently, he is mentored by a renowned kabuki actor who takes him under his wing. Alongside Shunsuke, the actor’s only son, Kikuo commits himself to mastering this revered traditional theatre. Over the years, the two young men develop and mature side by side, with one ultimately rising to become Japan’s most celebrated kabuki master.
