Iron Lung

The cosmos has fallen silent—no stars shimmer, and the planets have vanished into darkness. Only the inhabitants aboard space stations and starships remain to witness the final moments, dubbing this epoch "The Quiet Rapture." After decades of neglect, decay, and crumbling infrastructure, the Iron Consolidation makes a startling discovery on a desolate moon known as AT-5: an ocean of blood. Driven by desperation to find vital resources, they swiftly organize an expedition. A specialized submarine is constructed, with a condemned inmate sealed inside as crew. To withstand the crushing pressure and crushing depths, the forward viewport is reinforced with metal armor. Success could mean freedom for the convict; failure would mean another—perhaps the last—attempt. This marks the 13th expedition into the abyss.
