June 1944. Europe is engulfed in the chaos of war as preparations for the Normandy landings intensify. Denis Porte diligently carries out his daily duties at a British military base—though it's all a ruse. His true mission involves orchestrating the movements of fake soldiers to mislead the enemy. In the Porte family, bravery runs deep, with fathers and sons having sacrificed their lives heroically for France. As a result, Denis refuses to take any real risks that might worry his mother. Managing a fictitious base is the only danger she will accept for her son. However, everything changes when Denis meets Sami, an Algerian doctor with dreams of meeting De Gaulle. During a spirited evening fueled by alcohol, the two decide to join the real fight. With courage and a few drinks in hand, they set off—though they’re neither at the right place nor the right time. To complicate matters further, Denis is a reluctant hero, hesitant to face true peril. Thus begins their journey on the eve of D-Day, or something very close to it...
